Monica Julianne Salazar is a writer and editor based in Austin, Texas.

Since she was a little girl, Monica has loved the magic of words. She remembers staring out the window of her mother’s minivan, crafting sentences for future stories based on some fleeting thought. Writing has always acted as a refuge for her in times of boredom and melancholy, but it has also been there in times of elation and wonder. She hopes to help others find the same safe place for expressing their thoughts and feelings.

Monica graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in Spring 2020 with a degree in English, a minor in Comparative Literature, and a certificate in the Honors Creative Writing Program, for which she wrote a thesis: a collection of short stories.

Currently, she works as a Creative Specialist at GoDaddy, writing unique copy and creating beautiful graphics for small businesses across the country.
